The first Tuesday of each month from 3:30pm – 5:00pm

Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Groups provide emotional, educational and social support for family and friends of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other, related dementias.

Build a support system with people who understand.
Alzheimer’s Association® caregiver support groups, conducted by trained facilitators are a safe place for caregivers, family and friends of persons with dementia to:
• Develop a support system.
• Meet fellow caregivers who really understand because they’ve been there, too, when things are
difficult or isolating.
• Exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and possible solutions.
• Talk through issues and ways of coping.
• Learn about community resources.
•  Share feelings, needs and concerns in a confidential, supportive, non-threatening and non-judgmental atmosphere.

Our facilitators include:
Cathy Connors is an LPN and is the nurse manager of the Memory Care Center at The Village at Cedar Hill. Cathy has 22 years of experience in geriatrics. She is a trained and certified Alzheimer Caregiver Support Group Leader.

Brandie Armstrong has a BS in Psychology and is the Director of Social Services at Cedar Hill Continuing Care Community.  Brandie has 14 years of experience in geriatrics. She is a trained and certified Alzheimer Caregiver Support Group leader.

Gretchen Cole has a BS in Health Care Management and ADC/MC. She has over 19 years of working within the field of geriatrics and memory care. Gretchen is a Certified Dementia Specialist and trained Alzheimer Caregiver Support Group Leader. She currently works for Senior Solutions Agency on Aging as an Options Counselor and 3Squares VT/Respite Grant Specialist.


Cedar Hill and the Village at Cedar Hill, is a family-owned and operated senior community, providing a supportive and comfortable home to seniors in all stages of life. Cedar Hill Continuing Care was founded in 1988 by Mary Louise Sayles, a registered nurse and licensed nursing home administrator with many years of experience in long-term care administration. Mary Louise’s daughter Patricia Horn, who is also a licensed nursing home administrator, is the Community Administrator.

Cedar Hill recently achieved its 4th Deficiency-Free Survey in four years from the State of Vermont Division of Licensing and Protection, Department of Disabilities, Aging, Independent Living (DAIL). – Learn more:
