A Continuum of Care that Meets All Levels of Need

Cedar Hill, located in the foothills of Ascutney Mountain in historic Windsor, Vermont offers a continuum of care which include independent living, assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, state-of-the-art memory care and Alzheimer's care, respite care, and comfortable, dignified end-of-life care.

It is all here, on the same campus, with the same loving family of caregivers. Should your health care needs change over time, you do not need to relocate. As a resident of Cedar Hill, you may remain here in your home with the same attentive, skilled nursing caring professionals who provide the very best care at whatever level you require.

Founded in 1988, we have continued to grow, evolve, and expand through the years while maintaining our core philosophy: to create an environment of encouragement and supportive care for seniors, enabling them to live with dignity and maximize their personal potential.

A Unique, Nurturing Pet-Friendly Environmentretirement villages Windsor

We love pets at Cedar Hill! We bring our own pets to work with us and we encourage residents to bring cats, birds, fish, and smaller dogs as companions. We want you to enjoy all of the comforts of home in our residential neighborhoods, which means you can furnish and decorate your room or apartment as you desire and welcome guests to visit regularly. We invite local clergy so that you can practice the religion of your choice in the comfort of your retirement community. We also encourage you to work with your trusted personal physician (as long as they are located nearby), or if you prefer, use our friendly, highly-trained, in-house staff.

Pay-As-You-Go Services that Allow You to Keep Your Savings

At Cedar Hill, you do not “buy into” our community; you pay for the level of service that you choose and need on a monthly basis. Most continuing care communities, including independent living, nursing homes and assisted living housing require a substantial financial deposit and commitment on your part. Cedar Hill does not believe in that approach. You have earned the right to retain your savings for as long as possible.

A Family-Owned Independent Living Focused on Caring for Families

We are a Vermont family-owned company, founded in 1988 by Mary Louise Sayles and her business partner Judith Brogren—two nurses experienced in long-term care. Today, Cedar Hill is still owned by Mary Louise and her daughter Patricia Horn. We welcome you to visit and see, for yourself, what makes Cedar Hill special. Call us for a tour or just drop by! We’d love to show you around.
