We have always heard about how great Cedar Hill Nursing Home is. Now that my mother is there, we can tell you first hand that it is a great and wonderful place. We thank God for the opportunity to have her placed there. It is the best around in this entire area. Everybody talks about how wonderful this place is, and we are spreading the word around also. Thank you for a lovely Christmas party at the Village this weekend. It was festive, congenial and delicious! Our compliments to the chef for providing a very nice spread. It's important to the residents to see their families and friends and staff interacting, especially at the holidays. Thanks for taking the time to organize and attend the event.

I visit every evening for an hour and occasionally in the daytime. The staff have been very accommodating about setting up a lunch spot for us. Staff at all levels are very friendly. Whenever I have asked for anything, they have been very responsive and helpful. I feel comfortable with them and the whole set-up. The building is very attractive and there is a general good feel. Friends who have visited have commented on this.

The staff at Victorian House was very loving and affectionate towards our mother / grandmother. She was continually receiving loving hugs and tender words of encouragement from the women she relied on for her daily care. Cedar Hill was a very safe, warm, caring environment, and we were extremely happy and pleased with the care she received there, as she was able to become involved with other individuals in a nurturing environment.

This note is to let you know how pleased we are with the extensive Activity Program that you provide for the residents at Cedar Hill. We are so impressed with not only the fact that you offer a seven-day schedule, but also with the broad variety of activities! Our mom has told us--over and over--how she enjoys participating in 'therapy,' games, crafts, and field trips. As you know, my mother was recently ill and this required her to move out of the Village temporarily to nursing care, and now to Victorian House. During this whole process, she was very pleased with the care she received, and I am particularly grateful for the very professional and capable help she received during this period.

Every time someone asks me about Cedar Hill, these are the two words I use: THEY CARE! You probably think you're just doing your job, but it truly is so much more. For the past few years I would lie awake many a night worrying about my Dad. I don't lie awake anymore, thanks to you. Your compassion for older folks is admirable. Thanks for caring, thanks for being very friendly, and thanks for the many phone calls to assure me my dad was OK.

When we brought my mother to Cedar Hill, she was not able to move out of her chair, and there was little she could do for herself. Gradually, however, she improved enough enough to walk with assistance, feed herself, and take care of some other basic needs. I know there was a genuine personal commitment from the staff that made a difference in her progress. This made it possible for her to enjoy rides in the car and be more active.

As you well know, the thought of moving an elderly parent from his or her home when the time comes is a difficult and emotional burden. The way you and your staff cooperated with us in helping my mother's original move, and the steps that were taken to locate her in Victorian House are particularly appreciated. You carry on duties with smiles for the residents and families and are most dutiful. My mother particularly enjoyed this part of her Cedar Hill experience. When she needed medical care, it was there, and when she could have languished in boredom, she found new interests through the activities program to occupy her time.

I appreciated your input as to the health care decisions regarding my mother. As I lived out of state, this was particularly important to me. You never missed a beat! If the staff was unhappy with medical decisions made in my absence, I was informed.

When we arrived for an on-site visit, we were extremely pleased at how lovely Cedar Hill looked. How homelike: bright and pretty and alive!  How fortunate we were to be able to place our dad with you within such a short period of time. I'll never  forget a remark my father made after he had been at Cedar HIll for about two weeks. He said, "You know, this place is really clean and the food is good and the people are really nice!" Such wonderful words for us to hear after watching him fail for so many weeks."
