Activity Calendars
Every day at Cedar Hill, there are many activities, trips, special meals, crafts, art, cooking, resident council, exercise, coffee hours, mind sharpening games, musical entertainment, cocktail parties or other events going on. We can't list them all here, but we try to give you a glimpse of what is happening each month.
Here's a sampling of different activities and events that took part in our community this summer.
Halloween
On Halloween we'll host trick-or-treaters from schools and staff families from 3 pm to 5 pm.
Friday, October 9th, we'll all enjoy Pumpkin decorating with our Adopt-A-Grandparent program with the Weathersfield School.
Social Hours
Enjoy wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks Friday afternoon and evening at The Village, Victorian House and the Health Care Center.
Outings
This summer residents have enjoyed outings to the Shrine Parade in Windsor, a cruise on Lake Sunapee, and the Quechee Balloon Festival, among others. We also take residents to the local library, to eat out and to shop at grocery stores, book stores, and just for rides.
Exercise
Village: Exercise
We hold exercise classes several times a week and also have exercise equipment for residents to use.
Victorian House & Health Care Center
We hold exercise class every weekday.
Spirituality
Cedar Hill and the Village have an ongoing pastoral presence with Rev. Connie Moser of the Ascutney Union Church, as well as the local Catholic and Methodist churches. Rev. Moser is also an ongoing resource to residents, families and staff.
Resident Councils
Each residence (Village, Victorian House & Health Care Center) has its own monthly Resident Council where residents tell us what they would like to change or add or do. Of course, they can come tell us that anytime, but this gives our residents a formal council where they can actively discuss the life of the community as a group.
Pet Therapy
Cedar Hill is home to cats, visiting dogs and even a visiting horse. In the summer we host visits from the gentle horse Annie. We also have regular pet therapy visits and many families bring in their dogs to visit. We've even hosted baby lambs!
