Community Interaction
Good for the Spirit. And a lot of fun.
At Cedar Hill, we want our residents to keep up with the communities they
joined us from, to go out into the community to participate in events
and see new sites, and for the community to come in to see our great home
and visit with us. We host family picnics and car shows and community meetings. We bring in local
musical groups or go see them. We have strong involvement with our local schools and from volunteers. Ministers from a number of faiths host regular religious
services and some of our residents attend local churches.
And we go out: to eat, to the theater, on van tours, or just to
shop.
One of our strongest intergenerational programs is our involvement with
three local schools. For more than 10 years, Cedar Hill has participated in
an intergenerational program with State Street Elementary School in
Windsor. Students from the school come once a month to Cedar Hill and
frequently, wonderful projects such as handmade quilts come from the
experience.
